Strategi Kepala Sekolah dalam Meningkatkan Mutu Pendidikan di Madrasah Aliyah Darul Lughah Wa Da’wah Pasuruan

Abstract

The school principal holds a central role in determining the quality and direction of an educational institution's development. At Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Darul Lughah wa Dawah (Dalwa) Pasuruan a modern pesantren-based senior Islamic secondary school that has produced thousands of quality alumni the principal's leadership is a highly critical factor in maintaining and improving educational quality amid the challenges of globalization and increasingly intense competition among educational institutions. This article examines effective strategies for principals in improving educational quality at MA Dalwa through an analytical-critical library research approach. By reviewing reputable academic literature in Islamic educational management, educational leadership, and institutional quality development, this research constructs a comprehensive analytical framework. Three main dimensions are analyzed: first, the theoretical foundations of transformational leadership for school principals in the perspective of Islamic educational management; second, the strategy of developing an Islam-based quality culture as the foundation for continuous quality improvement; and third, the strategy of managing and developing human resources (teachers and education staff) as the frontline implementers of quality. This article argues that an effective principal at MA Dalwa is not merely an administrator managing routines, but a transformational leader capable of inspiring, building shared vision, developing individual capacities, and instilling a quality culture deeply rooted in Islamic values in a sustainable manner
