Ethical Publication and Malpractice Statement

A peer-reviewed national journal published twice a year in printed and online form. This statement explains the ethical behavior of all parties involved in publishing articles in Pandalungan, including authors, editorial boards, reviewers, and publishers. This statement is based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.


 
Publishing Ethics Guidelines

The publication of articles in Pandalungan is an important building block in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. It is therefore important to agree to the standards of ethical behavior expected for all parties involved in publishing: authors, journal editors, reviewers, publishers, and the public.


 
Duties of Editors
Publishing Decision
The editor is responsible for deciding which submitted articles to publish, guided by journal policy and legal provisions regarding defamation, copyright, and plagiarism.
Fair Treatment
Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on intellectual content without distinction of race, gender, religion, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of authors.
Confidentiality
Editors and staff may not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, and publishers.
Conflict of Interest
Unpublished materials in submitted manuscripts shall not be used in the editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.

 
Duties of Reviewers
Editorial Contribution
Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve their manuscripts through editorial communication.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shown or discussed with others unless authorized by the editor.
Standards of Objectivity
Reviews must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of authors is not appropriate. Reviewers must express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Source Recognition
Reviewers must identify relevant published works not cited by the author, and alert the editor to any similarity or overlap with other published articles.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must not evaluate manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any author or institution associated with the article.

 
Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards
Authors must present accurate reports of their work and an objective discussion of its significance. Data must be accurately represented and sufficient references included.
Originality
Authors must ensure that submitted work is entirely original. If the work of others has been used, it must be appropriately cited or quoted.
Anti-Plagiarism
Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. Submitted manuscripts must pass plagiarism screening before review.

All publication ethics policies in Pandalungan: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat are based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. All parties are expected to uphold these standards in every stage of the publication process.
